The forum will bring together more than 30 Indian business representatives, investors from different regions of the country and representatives of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on one platform.

The defining aspects of the forum are the building of horizontal ties between local authorities and interested businesses; developing of friendly strategic partnerships for the long term, not only in business, but also in public diplomacy; creation of "hubs of Russian-Indian" cooperation in the cities and areas of the Russian Federation. Particular attention will be paid to the issues of turning the forum into a permanent public tool for scaling up bilateral cooperation between the two countries, exchange of information, delegations from among representatives of local authorities and business, including the exchange of experts in areas of interest to Russian and Indian cities, as well as joint productive work in international organizations BRICS, SCO, etc.

The current state of Russian-Indian cooperation is primarily characterized by a significant growth in the trade and economic component, while a number of disproportions in such cooperation remain, associated with the predominance of energy imports from Russia. Now it is important to develop cooperation in other sectors, specifically in the agro-industrial complex, the chemical, food and light industries, the production of building materials, mechanical engineering and instrumentation, medicine and many others. The way out of this situation is seen in the diversification of trade and economic turnover and the development of mutual trust at the local level.
